Canon XTi exposure bracketing question.

Can someone please answer the following: Is it possible to set the exposure to

manual (M) with a particular aperture and shutter speed, and then auto bracket +

and - from there? My current camera does not bracket in M mode (only A, Tv and P).

The Manual says it is a valid option. But I don't have an XTI/400D, so hopefully an owner will be able to confirm it works. Good luck!

Exposure bracketting works in Manual with a 5D, FWIW. After setting AEB in the menu, be sure to site your drive mode to multi-exposure.

It definitely works with the 30D (I just tried it). We are waiting for a 400D owner.

just tried this on my 400d in continuous shooting it took all 3 shots, in single shot mode i had to do 3 shots but it still did the 3 different exposures

I can confirm that this works on my 400D as well. In continuous shooting mode with the camera set to "M" it takes three shots automatically, in single shot I press the release three times to take the three bracketed shots. You can also see the three exposure values on the meter as you change the shutter/apature.

Thanks everyone. That feature is important to me when I want to shoot panoramas with a large dynamic range. I can bracket all the shots, blend them, and then stitch. THANKS EVERYONE!

This is not the behavior I'm observing. The shutter release button has to remain depressed for all 3 exposures to occur. Not exactly what I call automatic.
