rick_gerbehy1
Just got a Canon 430 EX flash...through Amazon from Adorama. Receipt indicates USA warranty....but no (red) USA warranty card in the box...only (blue) International warranty card. Called Adorama....they were not too convincing....Does the USA version come with a card that indicates it's a USA warranty. I'm not really that concerned about the $15. grey market price difference......but I had a nightmare with a grey market 540 a few years back. Thanks in advance for your help. mark u
Was your nightmare because Canon refused to service the 540? These days they are more concerned to see a copy of the sales invoice to prove that the warranty period hasn't expired - so long as you proffer that when asking for service the warranty card seems to be an irrelevance. The flashes are all made on the same production line regardless of where or how they are sold, so it will make no difference to your chances of getting a lemon. rick_gerbehy1
Thanks for the reply. It confirms the info I received from Canon customer service. My receipt from an authorized Canon dealer should get warranty service if needed. By the way it's a pretty good flash....extremely quick recycle....solving a particular photo assignment requirement. Thanks again
