This week's thread is starting extra early as I can hardly stay awake. I guess its Thursday already in England though, so let's get this thing started. I've had a busy week, as I'm sure many of you have, and didn't find too many opportunities to shoot this week, but I did get a photo I like. Hopefully you got a few spare minutes to get in a shot this week, let's see what you got.

I got a few minutes this past weekend to practice with an 85mm lens a friend is letting me borrow. It sure helps when you've got such a great subject. Here's another one of Ollie...

00YHPE-335089584.jpg.025f51b53a512088d9e70a5bb44af530.jpg

Sticking with the dog theme, this is Blackberry, our 8 month old female standard poodle, pictured this Saturday in our garden. After nearly 20 years of refusing, I finally gave in to my wife and we bought her last July: our first family dog. Whilst I'm not so cool on the nail varnish and ribbons that she comes back from the groomers wearing, overall she is a positive additional to our family. She's also a decidedly difficult subject to photograph, as she just sucks up light, forcing lots of over exposure and blown backgrounds.

My Grandmother was in town visiting and we went out to eat for lunch at a restaurant called Macaroni Grill. It's an Italian restaurant that largely serves different variations of pasta. I however chose to get the Margherita Pizza and I must say it was delicious. Those grape tomatoes on top really add an extra touch.

While shooting some photographs after a snowstorm, I ran across this image of an oil leak in a parking lot. It is in keeping with the color theme that I have been pursuing.

Doing quite a bit of studio work at the moment, so since being made redundant i have decided to give it a go to earn some money. Converting the garage area into a studio but the set up is in my kitchen at the moment (i take it down when not in use). I try to be inventive and make the sessions fun for the kids, this is my daughter again(sorry) trying to get some jumping shots. As i cant shoot any faster than 1/160 because my flash trigger isnt that fast i find these quite tricky to focus. This is a good sharp one though.

00YHUB-335145684.jpg.135a417c62fd3b86c88cf077d9357685.jpg

I didn't have much time to shoot this week as it was my birthday and we were running all over the place! I now have both my boys in hockey and one also does basketball. Schedule is a BIT crazy! Last night however, I was washing dishes at my kitchen sink and looked up to see this beautiful doe in my backyard. You better believe I grabbed my camera and snapped a couple shots before she high tailed it back into the woods. :-)
