Here we go with week #3. Strong participation from last week. But I gotta tell you, the Nikon guys are still beating Canon by 20 or so submissions. Are you going to take that from those guys? Get out there and shoot! (shoot photos of course)

Hey! Look at this, it's not a kid photo! Good friend of mine got married at a small park/lake near where we all grew up. Mellow ceremony in the woods overlooking the lake. But an adventure because I was a groomsman and the photographer at the same time. Canon 5D 70-200/2.8

As for the rest of you, POST 'EM UP.

00XFd1-278611584.jpg.0e97064715933f74e0f969336db7f7fe.jpg

Greetings all. Seeing I am moving over from the other camp as my D5000 has a new owner, thought I would add something for now. Just got my 500D so still figuring out the controls. This was a 3 shot composite from my playing with the camera earlier:

00XFj1-278725584.JPG.ec1e22233450d4b321130df0c5a46d66.JPG

Thanks Josh! Great shots everyone.
In particular, I love Jim's shot - the grey static feel of the foreground, contrasted with the bright color and dynamic exploding clouds makes a great shot.
I also love Karen's butterflies - very cool, looks like Pandora from Avatar.
Here's my shot from earlier this summer.

Looking for a good photo while hiking last Monday, Labor Day holiday and found these flowers; light wasn't good at 11 a.m. but in this area it was excellent -- on Mt. Wittenberg, Pt. Reyes National Seashore.
7D and 24-70 2.8L at f/4, ISO 800. Not cropped much and reduced to 700 px wide.

00XFjG-278723684.jpg.7081121585bea0e5b70f14d1708ec5d2.jpg
