Canon Thursday Pic 2010: #3

  1. Important: please keep your image under 700 pixels wide/high for in-line viewing, and please try to keep the FILE SIZE UNDER 300kb. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc).

Are you new to this thread? The general guidelines for these Thursday threads are right here. Remember: only one image each week!
Here we go with week #3. Strong participation from last week. But I gotta tell you, the Nikon guys are still beating Canon by 20 or so submissions. Are you going to take that from those guys? Get out there and shoot! (shoot photos of course)

Hey! Look at this, it's not a kid photo! Good friend of mine got married at a small park/lake near where we all grew up. Mellow ceremony in the woods overlooking the lake. But an adventure because I was a groomsman and the photographer at the same time. Canon 5D 70-200/2.8
As for the rest of you, POST 'EM UP.

  16. Didn't really get anything new this week, so here's one from our Alaskan cruise last year. Shot from a train. I would've loved to walk around with a tripod.
  17. Great shots so far. I particularly like Jeff's MA shot.
    Here's my contribution.
  18. Greetings all. Seeing I am moving over from the other camp as my D5000 has a new owner, thought I would add something for now. Just got my 500D so still figuring out the controls. This was a 3 shot composite from my playing with the camera earlier:
  19. Thanks Josh! Great shots everyone.
In particular, I love Jim's shot - the grey static feel of the foreground, contrasted with the bright color and dynamic exploding clouds makes a great shot.
I also love Karen's butterflies - very cool, looks like Pandora from Avatar.
Here's my shot from earlier this summer.

    cool shot Dean........
  59. Ok. Really going to have to work on my silhouettes to get to Eric and B Christopher's levels.
And if this is the usual standard, I'm not going to regret changing sides. Wonderful stuff people.
  60. Sept 5, 2010 on a shoot with a Canon 20D, a Canon AE-1 Program, and a Praktina IIa.
Giant City State Park - one of the "streets" in Giant City.
  61. JDM -- where is Giant City? (too many Y pixels too)
On this page (7) I really think Paul's B&W child shot SHINES. Wonderful.
Dean's 17mm giraffe is highly amusing and Rhett's child close-up is moving.
So many other good works on previous pages!
  62. Canon Rebel XTi
  63. Paul, great job capturing the moment.
  64. Illinois, southern Illinois, is the home of Giant City State Park and the scene of many of my recent crimes here on On the wall facing covered with moss, is a graffito from Fremont's Civil War expedition into the area - it may even be genuine. :) Sorry about the Y-pixel measurement, my Bad.
  65. Comments for page 5, images that really caught my eye:
Tom A -- super cute photo of your daughter -- a them this week, young kids and cute portraits of them.
Mike S's B&W -- The Usual suspects ehh? Nice comp.
Dan S's cocktail hour and lovely blonde (and the dude checking her out and the dudes drinking beer straight out of the bottle, horrors!)
Christian -- super cute pose of her. Lovely.
No comments for the other couple on the page as they could improve here or there, but all are worthy, no doubt.
  66. Echinops
    7D, Mamiya/Sekor M42 60mm f2.8 macro, f11 @ 1/20, ISO 800
  67. Tony -- read the rules -- 700 px max, also your URL above is wrong. You need to either include a hosted, 700 px max photo or resize one yourself and then post it via the super easy interface.
