  4. The west coast Clydesdales (there are multiple teams) came to a town near us last week. This is unusual as we are in the southeast, so they were a long way from home. We watched as they were dressed to pull the Budweiser wagon in a promo event. Unfortunately the sun was low and harsh and in front of us, making shadows long in the dressing area.

  7. Another exhibit with light as the subject. This time in Museum Ijsselstein.
My niece Mayke Verhoeven had 2 older works there. First one is what she did with my old tv table.

  11. It's been the time of year when I can see the sun rise behind Windsor Castle ~8 miles away. On one day, I had the sun directly behind the castle, but there was so much atmospheric distortion that the images were really unpublishable.
Shortly after the sun rose over the castle, the aircraft flying into Heathrow went across the disk of the sun and I was able catch a few. Once again, the low level of the sun lead to gross atmospheric distortion, but I'm presenting one here for interest.
The two long range shots were taken with a 7D2+100-400+1.4x and the landscape was 5D3+24-70/4.
For the sun disk shot, I added a Hoya ND1000

  15. This was along California's Interstate 5 near Grapevine. It looks like they are burning gas off of the oil wells which is called flaring. Wikipedia says that the nearby town of Arvin had the worst air pollution in the nation in 2007. In the background is the Wheeler Ridge Pumping station for the California Aqueduct.
