  1. Important: please keep your image under 700 pixels wide/high for in-line viewing, and please try to keep the FILE SIZE UNDER 300kb.
Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). Are you new to this thread? The general
guidelines for these Thursday threads are right here. Remember: Limit of three (3) images each week!

Happy Thursday everyone! Iphoning it again so no photo yet. I will post a photo in the morning. Already a couple hours late, so ill get on
with it. Lets see those photos!
  2. Happy Holidays everyone!
I'm on the road again (as always), but I now carry a small card reader so I can get the images out of my camera and into Lightroom on my laptop so I can post from the road. Here goes:
This is a hotel bathroom in a nice hotel in Fukuoka, Japan from a couple of days ago. What else will they tell me how to do?
  3. The same hotel has a strict policy on tattoos in the gym and spa.
  4. And the light was incredible at sunset in Honolulu yesterday... or was it the day before? I lose track sometimes.
  5. Try again . . .
  6. Awesome photo, Wade!
    Season's Greetings, all!
  7. It was a dull grey day yesterday. But somehow the fallen leaves from the kiwi plant cought my eye. First tried with the 50 1.4 but somehow these didn't pop. So this is with the 28-80 2.8-4.0 L, on 50.. will do more experiments later, and try to get the 50 1.4 to pop..
  8. Here's mine. I've flown through Recife many times but can never quite get enough of this view... :)
  9. Wade, stunning shot. Ethereal, almost.
    Merry Christmas, everyone!
  10. Dave (Collett), I love the signage on organised crime syndicate members :D
  11. By no means is this a good photo. It is definitely not my best picture this week. But it has to be my POW. My daughter Kate and her boyfriend Kevin a hour or so after they announced their engagement last night. I couldn't be happier.
  12. Love those windmills Wade.
You may be forgiven for thinking the 3 shots I posted last week were taken in India - in fact, they were taken in Brighton on the south coast of England. The tower is a detail of the Royal Pavilion, the arch is the North Gate entrance, and the Dome is "The Dome" - originally built by The Prince Regent, later George IV, as stables. If you are willing to brave the English climate, Brighton is a great place to visit with lots of photo opportunities. This week my first shot is of the Brighton Eye; the second shot is of the Maritime Museum in Greenwich - where I visited a wonderful exhibit of Ansel Adams' work - "Photography from the Mountains to the Sea" (ends 28th April, 2013). And third a Xmas Iguana....Happy Holidays!
  13. #2 - Maritime Museum, Greenwich
  14. #3 - Happy Holidays all!
  15. Amazing shot Wade. Congratulations Robert.
Hope everyone has a pleasant holiday, whatever it may be.
  16. Very nice shots from everyone. Here's a shot from the all horse drawn Christmas Parade.
Looks like Santa is packed and ready to deliver...
  17. Do you see a ram or a demon?

  19. I had some film processed after a recent trip to Dungeness on the Kent coast.
This was shot with Ilford SFX 200 with a Kood R4 filter; my first use of this combination.

The late fall and winter months are always good for longer shadows mid-day.

  23. Happy Holidays to all of you! No shooting for the last few weeks. Here’s a shot of one of the roosting ponds at Bosque in New Mexico in the early am, before the "flyout".
  24. Wow, no birds so far this week. I'll fix that:
Canon 5D MkIII, EF 500mm f/4L IS, EF 1.4X TC-II, Av mode, ISO 400, +2/3EV, f/6.3, resulting in 1/2000-sec., Raw conversion with DxO Optics Pro 8.1.
  25. And here’s a shot of one of the roosting ponds at sundown, literally thousands of cranes and snow geese.

  28. Got my new 7D and shot a high school freshman girls basketball game. Still learning all the nuances of the camera.
  29. Early morning.
  30. Early morning in November
  31. Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins at the State Theater in Portland, ME. The rest of the set is here if you are interested. 5D III with the new (awesome) 24-70 mark II.
  32. Many great shots!
Mine is from a recent swing through San Francisco and Napa.
  33. Happy holidays. Lots of great pictures this week. The windmill picture is great, Wade. I also like those night shots by Horse E.
This is a three exposure HDR processed with DPP's HDR tool.

  34. I'm still playing around with my new lens toys. Here, again, is the EF 100-400mm IS

  38. Finally time to submit my contribution on Thursday.
I hope I'm not the last one like I was the last few weeks :)

  41. Thanks, everybody, for the comments on my wind farm photo. I found myself lucky enough to be in a "right place, right time" kind of moment last week.
  42. Great photos! I especially liked the windmills. Happened to see a flock of Buffleheads in a retention pond and stopped. This is the photo I liked the best. I got better / closer photos of the birds, but there is something about the patterns in the water that draws me to this one.[IMG] Rebel Kiss X, Nikkor 300mm F4.5 ED AI-S plus Nikkor TC14b.
  43. Crab apples after a snowstorm. 5D Mk2 Sigma 24-70 f/5.6 1/1600
  44. Steve,

I think you'll find your "Bufflehead" is actually a Hooded Merganser.

    Nice shot!
