Just the other side of Robin's Airstream photo is the River Thames. In the normal course of events, that's about a mile from my house, but as we've had the wettest winter for nearly 200 years, there's now flood water within a quarter mile of home.
A couple of days ago, I took some photos of the places I could get to.

For the second time in two weeks Atlanta has snow - well this time mostly ice. I shot the first two shortly after it all started yesterday in daylight. The third was taken this morning before dawn with the street light shining through the tree limbs. By then we had received a bit more ice. All taken with Canon 50d using the 24-105 mm zoom.
00cNhh-545501684.jpg.4efe5d9cef6dd7b55dc20b8a0e160639.jpg

We have heavy wind whipped snow this morning with about 8 inches of new white stuff and a lot more to come. This one is from a few days ago in the ice clad, but sun drenched woodland out back. Fortunately we didn't loose power, like so many others. We are well equipped for that eventuality. Good luck to those of you in the icy mess of this current storm.

00cNi5-545502984.JPG.9b31866c3ba64729d418b09e2b8fa510.JPG

This past week California finally received some much needed rain and snow, we still need a great deal more. With the rain stopped and an extra day off I headed out to the Merced National Wildlife Refuge. There wasn't much water so very few ducks, but there was an abundance of Snow and Ross' Geese.

00cNiB-545503284.jpg.12005ca6e5428284113a0769d5d695ba.jpg
