Canon Professional Services for USA?

Does Canon offer membership in CPS (Canon Professional Services) to

working pros in North America, as they do in <a

href="http://www.cps.canon-europe.com/prosupport/">Europe</a> and <a

href="http://www.canon.com.au/CPS/home.aspx">Australia</a>? If the

answer is yes, could you please provide a link to info about it? Much

appreciated.

As far as I know, they only have these services online available for Europe and Australia.

Yes they certainly do, while they do not have a website for the US, you can call them at 516-328-4833, I deal with Stephen.

Just called the CPS service for USA... Same number 516-328-4833. As stated there is no website. JOE stated it is "Word of Mouth" only in the USA and still yet they are up to 10,000 members. They will respond to you with an email. You complete the information and prove that you are a full time photographer (jump through the hoops). Hopefully, you will receive a second email within a few weeks telling you that you are approve for their free program. Or, you can email "CPSMEMBER@cusa,canon.com" and they will send you the info to apply. Either way, if you are in a hurry to get your failing camera repaired and are hoping for the benefits of the CPS membership, be prepared to be told, "NO, it could take a few weeks depending on who is in the office and when they look at their paperwork."

Canon U.S.A. has announced that it will be instituting a new Canon Professional Services (CPS) program beginning in the first quarter of 2009. The new CPS program, which will require all existing members to reapply, will offer three levels of membership - Silver, Gold and Platinum - to qualifying members, with each level receiving better and more extensive service benefits. The new CPS program is designed to provide the appropriate level of service for each professional demographic and support members with faster service, loan equipment, and a range of other benefits to be announced in the coming months.

 

CPS Silver level membership will be offered free-of-charge to qualifying photographers. This level of membership includes a welcome kit, access to the CPS phone hotline and a 20 percent discount on repairs.i

 

For professional photographers requiring a higher level of Canon support, CPS Gold level membership additionally includes access to loan equipment for a two-week trial period and an expedited three-day turnaround on service items.ii Along with a 30 percent service discount, CPS Gold level membership includes two free Check & Clean vouchers and will have an annual fee of $100*.

 

The CPS Platinum membership level will include priority access to loan equipment for two-week trial periods, 60 percent discount on repairsiii, expedited two-day turnaround on equipment service and backup equipment loans if service is longer than two days.iv CPS Platinum level membership will have an annual fee of $500*.

The current CPS program is no longer accepting new members. All current members, regardless of when their existing membership term expires, will continue in the current program through the launch of the new program, and all current memberships will then effectively terminate as of the new program launch date. The new CPS program will begin accepting membership applications via this CPS website, sometime during the first quarter of 2009.
