robertgiles
I hope this is a easy adjustment, but, I am asking for help or advice in fixing the film door on this Canon ft. It just won't latch, is it in need of oil or bending slightly? I'm determined in not destroying another camera. All of you have been there I'm sure. It isn't sprung or twisted .
jim_bielecki1
I suggest posting this in the Canon FD group. Somebody there can give you an answer,
User_502260
I am looking at one of my FT QL bodies now. The latch on the bottom needs t be folded out and turned. Turning it counterclockwise opens the back and turning it clockwise locks the back.
grey_rogacion
My guess would be the lever with the yellow arrow. If you raise the lever up and release, it should go down, it's what I understand locks the door. It could be stuck, may had been dented on the side or maybe some dirt. Try to free the lever................
robertgiles
Jeff, you were exactly right on it. I wondered what that tab was for. Really a great feature. Thanks to all for your help and suggestions.
