Canon FL 50mm lens stuck wide open

<p>I have book 1 and book 2 of Tomosy and he does not cover Canon lens maintenance or repair. I am wanting to fix this lens and the Canon FT that is locking up every other shot and then clean the viewfinder and CLA the rascal. I'm 72 and have a steady hand and time on my side, I hope. Any advice or point me to more suitable instruction materials. Any help is welcome.</p>

<p>Nice find! I have an FL 35mm f/2.5 with a lazy aperture iris that I can probably use this video as a general guide. </p>

<p>Looscanons is wonderful, but I see that if you have various add-ons 'locked' down to suppress free-wheeling ads and sech, it's still very frustrating to use. However, I've found it worth the trouble.</p>

<p>It may be operating correctly. That lens is a preset, so you have to use it in stop down mode on a FD camera if that is what the op has. It has the aperture ring on the front, and an A/M (auto and manual) switch somewhere else, I can't remember where. Probably on the back. Both have to be set correctly for the lens to stop down.</p>
