Canon FD 28-70/2.8

Does anyone know if Canon ever made such a lens? I've seen one

advertised, and when I phoned the shop to check found that it had been

transferred to another (unknown) branch but that, as far as the

salesman knew, it was indeed a canon-made FD-fit 28-70/2.8

 

I can't find any information about such a lens anywhere online so I'm

thinking maybe it's a third-party lens in FD fit and has been entered

into the shop's inventory incorrectly, but if there is such a lens,

i'd be interested in buying it. Has anyone seen or heard of such a

lens? and if so, is it any good?

If it's Canon, it's an EF.

The only lens I know of that is 28-70mm and f2.8 in FD mount is a very very rare Tokina AT-X I have only seen two for sale in the five years I have been searching ebay for Canon FD stuff. Both sold for what I though was a very high price.

I have the 28-70 Tokina in Contax/Yashica mount. It's worth every cent I paid for it! Get one if you can.

I have the f3.5/4.5 version of the Tokina and like it so much I bought two! The wife uses one as her main lens and the other is loaned out to my son in the Navy.

Sigma made 28-70, 2.8 lens. I had one for awhile, in fd mount, till fungus got to it. Liked it very much.
