Canon FD 28-55mm 3.5-4.5 SSC

I had one for a while it's a capable little lens. But I would not rate it among Canons better zooms. It is a consumer grade lens along with the 35-70mm f3.5/4.5 nFD was Canons first bundled zooms with new bodies. Both of these lenses have the advantage of being very compact and lt. wt. the 28-85mm f4.0 and 35-105mm f3.5 are much better.

It does show more distortion then I liked but it made a good snap shot lens.

I know that the shorter non-L FD zooms are much maligned, but I have an FD 35-70mm 2.8-3.5 SSC and I find it to be a very fine lens. It's sharp at both the normal and macro ranges, and has very rich colour rendition. In my humble estimation, it's almost as good as the primes of its vintage. But I'm afraid I've never used the 28-55mm, which is an admittedly slower (and cheaper) lens.
