Randy Filkin
Greetings, I am considering the purchase of the [Canon EOS Rebel T6 Digital SLR Camera w/ EF-S 18-55mm IS + EF-S 75-300mm Lens Bundle. Is this is a good purchase? It would quite an upgrade from my Pentax k1000 and in my budget
Ken Katz
There are better long zooms than the 75-300. The 70-300 IS is very good as is the 55-250 IS, with the latter also relatively inexpensive and light weight. I would prefer a bundle of the 18-55IS and 55-250IS, which you should be able to find a good price.
peter_c5
Forget the 75 - 300. I had one, left over from film days, and it was hopelessly outclassed by newer lenses, especially soft at the long end. I'd go with Ken's suggestion of the 55 - 250 IS, which is great value for money.
