Canon EOS Digital Solution Disk (Version 20)

  1. Does anyone know where one can download Version 20 of Canon's EOS Digital Solution Disk?
I know you can go to http://tinyurl.com/zjnt5 & download individual updated but I'm looking for the complete disk preferrably as an ISO instead.
    Thanks in advance.

  2. They are not available for download but you can purchase it directly from Canon for a nominal fee.
Realize if you have any Canon camera software (including Elf *X&$#**X&$#**X&$#**X&$#*) on your computer, you can install any of the upgrades. They're actually full installs but they look for existing CAnon software for authorization.

  3. What camera is Version 20 for ?

  4. My 9/2009 50D came with Ver 19 but I didn't install it. My Canon apps were already newer due to updates.

  5. 9/2009 50D
    Neat trick, PF. ;-)

  6. Ver. 19.0 shipped mid Nov. with my 50D.
Ver. 20.0 ships with the EOS Rebel T1i.
I do a lot of custom Windows & MAC OS clean installs (on a new or wiped hard drive) thus the need for a Ver. 20 Disc.

  7. The updates are actually the full versions, but they look for pre-existing installations. For windows, you can create registry entries that will allow the update files to install on a fresh machine. Do this:
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste in the following:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon \EOS Utility]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon \DPP]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon \ZoomBrowser EX]

    3. Save the file as Canon .reg
    4. Double-Click the file and answer Yes when asked if you want to add the information to the registry.

Now the updates from Canon will install the full version of the software.

  8. Lance McVay -- very slick -- you get the gold star!
