trooper
I've struggled to get good black and white scans from my 9950F (usingthe supplied software). This morning, I finally took some time toexperiment with assorted settings and stumbled into a simplecombination that seems to work consistently. I found that setting thescan to color negative source, output color mode gray scale, auto toneoff, unsharp mask on, backlight correction low, calibrate to setautomatic on each scan, I finally was getting predictable and usablescans. I have previously been getting scans that were very muddy and thatrequired a great deal of manipulation. This combination gave me agood, easy place to start, good shadow detail and required just a bitof tweaking and sharpening to give good print output.
