for wedding group photos inside the church
It really depends on the size of the group and the size of the church, but I would personally go for the 35 1.4, because it lets in at least one more stop of light.
You have both? Or are you looking to buy? You are comparing a $1,100 lens to a $280 lens. Of course, if you compared the 35/1.4 to the 24/1.4 lens you'd be comparing equivalently priced lenses.
If you have enough money to actual buy the 35mm, then you probably have enough money to buy the 24/2.8 too. So there you have it. Get em both.
I have the 24/2.8 and 35/2. They are both excellent but have very different PoV, hence used for different purposes. You FIRST need to decide which PoV you want/need.
Happy shooting ,
