Canon 1D Mark II

Hi,

 

I've just received my Mark II (not N) with 24-70L. Everything works fine except

that when I press the menu button and try to navigate in the menus, I can't. The

quick control dial turns but doesn't turn in the menu (Custom WB, JPEG

QUAL,Parameters etc... cannot be accessed). But the quick control dial works for

everything else.

 

Finally, when I press the Menu button (hold it down) I can navigate in the 4

Main Command functions, but like I said, cannot go in the menu themselves.

 

Anybody know why?

Just realized you have to hold the button eh? It takes some getting used to for anyone new to the cameras but I think there's sound reasoning for it. Prevents unintentionally knocking the dial and changing a setting.

Asking someone to zoom into the penultimate shot on the CF card is always a lark if they've never used the camera before. I've never had someone do it inside of 5 minutes.

Why is it that when you ask a question, you always figure out the answer, to your problem,

before the first reply is received ?

This happens to me almost every time!
