cardoni
I have got this new 10D ( it is new, old stock). In full auto pictures are fine. In P mode all pictures come out strongly blue casted. I tried to change the color temperature setting but no change. I tend to use the P mode since it lets me use the center focusing sensor only. Any ideas? Thank you. awindsor
What is the white balance setting ? It should be visible on the top LCD. If you shoot during daylight with tungsten setting for example the pictures will come out blue. Changing the colour temperature setting has no affect unless white balance is set to "K". akajohndoe
BTW, if that is not set correctly, what is the current picture number and current directory? I am questioning the classification of this 10D as "new" vs "demo".
cardoni
Alistair, Thank you! That solved the problem. I set it on daylight. DN, I dont think it is demo. The last batch of 10D serial number started by 17... it is not likely one of the last batch was put up for demo. As far as I know only canon can tell you how many shots on the camera. The last file numbering on the camera was 128.
awindsor
I tend to shoot RAW so don't worry too much about WB but when shooting people outside I often stick it on shade WB to give a slight warm hue to the picture. Similar to using a warming filter. It is also very useful when shooting with a polarizer which tends to "cool" light.
