yossarian
Does anyone have recommendations as to where to send a camera that needs refurbishing - foam, timing, etc... and what it may cost? Thanks in advance. Happy shooting.
User_502260
I can recommend Essex Camera Service in Carlstadt, NJ. An overhaul for a camera like a Nikkormat or a Canon Ftb might cost $110. The same for a Canon F-1, F-1n, Nikon F or Nikon F2 would be about $150. A Canon F-1N, Nikon F3 or Minolta XK might run $250. Essex has overhauled at least 10 bodies for me and many lenses. joseph_wei
I've had really good experiences with Dean Williams - he's serviced a Canon FT (which had been neglected and had some significant shutter problems before the repair) and a Yashica D TLR for me with great results, and for very reasonable prices. Other than being a very satisfied customer, I'm not personally affiliated with Dean. Here's his website: deansofidaho.com
joe_nash1
I have had two Canon A-bodies(A-1 & AE-1P) done at Garry's camera repair. His site is www.garryscamera.com. Also, www.unitedcamerarepair.com, they are in the +100 range, but they have been in business for a very long time and service alot of camera's for other businesses. Good luck! trw
In Canada, try Victoria Camera Service ((250)383-4311). They CLA'd and re-foamed my Canon EF and my Mamiya C220, I think each was under $100 CDN.
ed_ruping1
If you have a Canon T90, I'd suggest Camera Clinic USA in Sparks Nevada. Steve has serviced several of my cameras and has done an outstanding job. Cost is about $125. Fast turn around time too. Check out his site at http://cameraclinic-usa.com/.
