marc_bergman1
This article was in the September 1967 issue of US Camera magazine. I see they mentioned the French Sept 35mm camera I had shown in an earlier posting. Camera-Collectors-1-sm-

Julio Fernandez
Thanks again, Marc! The article on camera collecting was very interesting. And as said above, the used SLRs reviewed are those we still buy or crave, 50 years later.. The field was getting more technical, with MTF explanations and Keppler doing his best to explain the magazine's lens testing criteria. I bet that there had been a few angry letters from manufacturers! Best part of the article is the last paragraph: "....I'd much rather go out and use lenses than worry more about them." Matthew Currie
I actually had a Sept, in what appeared to be working order, and although I even had a couple of spools for it, along with its fitted case, for some reason now forgotten I never loaded and used them. In a fit of obvious temporary insanity in the early 1990's, I sold it along with a few other things I shouldn't have sold, including a black bodied Leica II, a couple of IIIA's, a couple of Speed Graphics and a Zeiss Movikon. I got some pretty good money, but still will forever wonder what the heck was the matter with me!
rick_drawbridge
Yes, Keppler's article is about as sane an explanation of lens "sharpness" as you'd hope to find. Excellent collection of articles, Marc; many thanks.
