mike_pallas
Hi Don't know what you guys think but this latest product (body armour) for your SLR sounds like a pretty dumb idea. Must be for those who are paranoid about damage. Personal possessions insurance I think offers better protection.
stwrtertbsratbs5
Kind of like placing plastic over a sofa.

phyrpowr
Earlier thread had some positive user comments, but it looks like a moisture trap to me. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving it on a camera overnight
craig_gillette
After a quick glance, I kind of thought they might trap grit and dirt as much or more than mositure, which might cause some finish damage. Admittedly, I didn't spend a lot of time looking so maybe there might be some positives.
phyrpowr
Craig, I get the impression it fits tightly, so maybe during use no "sanding" problem, but wrestling it on and off...another story
craig_gillette
Like I said, just a quick look. On mil aerospace programs I worked on, the problems of grit and sand, etc., around moving controls was more troublesome than simply excluding water. But since few cameras are designed to those conditions, trying to back into ruggedness seems awkward at best. Kind of like looking at the wear from truck bed liners, camper shells, etc., compared to the spray-on coatings. The "trapped" grit wears down the paint, the water rusts the metal underneath.
