curritch
Anybody know anything about this? I've searched photo.net and can't find anything. I Thought Slidescribe was a reputable outfit. This is the new 'must-have' high tech sensor cleaning brush brought to you by Image Innovations! Protect your camera investment with the newest technology in CCD cleaning. BRUSHOFFᄅ BRUSHOFF is unique in the digital cleaning world. It's unlike any other sensor brush on the market because it neutralizes both charged dust particles and the sensor surface. Imagine this effect on your CCD! BRUSHOFF is conductive because the dust and lint that attaches to the sensor or lens surface is attached there electrically (dust has a negative charge and the sensor/lens a positive one). Breaking that electric bond is the only way to both remove the debris and discharge the sensor or lens surface so new particles are not again immediately attracted to it. BRUSHOFF works by neutralizing the static charge build up on a sensor or lens. Its unique fibers pull dust from the surface and the conductive barrel then holds that static charge until the brush is electrically grounded using the attached grounding plug. * designed in conjunction with and engineered to NASA specs * detachable grounding cable * remarkably soft brush * retractable shaft to protect brush when not in use * protective cap * insulated handle * the brush barrel is its own solid carrying case * Order now at http://www.slidescribe.com/pcua.shtml
klix
From the website: Cleaning the brush is quite simple; gently wipe the bristles with a clean PEC-PAD saturated with Eclipse . ________ If I already have PecPad and Eclipse to begin with, one would assume that I've been using that to clean a DSLR's sensor. So, why would I need Brushoff? KL
arnabdas
I have tried sensor brushes from both Visible Dust and Copperhill Images. They are half-effective and the Copperhill one even streaked the sensor (yes, I never touched the brush with finger etc.). I doubt if this one will be any better. Over time, I realized the best cleaning is wet cleaning with Eclipse, or no cleaning at all. I hardly ever use brushes now.
kuryan_thomas
I have tried sensor brushes from both Visible Dust and Copperhill Images. They are half-effective
I thought I was doing something wrong. I agree, they are effective, but not nearly as effective as the hype would have you believe. I'm not that obsessive about zero dust specks, but if I were, I'd probably be annoyed at having spent so much money on something that doesn't live up to the promise. The major advantage is that you can travel without having to worry about Eclipse.
