Brownie Target Six-30 -

Recommended Posts

Hi! I found my mom's old brownie in excellent condition. I really don't know how to open it to see if there is any film in it. Does anyone know how to open it? Also, is it of any value? I would like to sell it. Thanks!

Hi, Nancy -

Opening your Brownie is really very simple - I have one of them, even

though it's a "Six-20", not a "Six-30" - there's a winding knob on

the lower right-hand side. Grasp this and turn it counter-clockwise

while pulling it out slightly. It should extend from the body of the

camera. Then, lift the button on the top (the front button of the

carrying strap), and pull the front of the camera out while holding

the button up.

Please go to my yahoo briefcase - www.briefcase.yahoo.com/dc_one_1981

- here you will find the manual for this camera. Feel free to

download it and print it out and use it.

The current "street value" of a camera like this in very good

condition is still only about $10. My advice to you is, don't be so

quick to try to sell it! If it works, use it! Taking pictures with

these old cameras is a lot of fun, you should try it. While you're

at my yahoo briefcase, download my article about the Brownie camera

as well. Chuck has links to other websites and articles on how to

respool film, etc. Good luck!
