brian_walton
I have just read with interest a few comments on this group concerning the apparant "bottoming" of the market with reference to MF pre owned prices. Thankfully I think this has happened in the last couple of months....I have just purchased! Yippee! The trend back to MF by many can be based on a number of factors. I put just two at the top of my list. One is "backup". Film is and will always be(within my lifetime) a splendid form of backup....forget CD's and DVD's. Two: Is that, as I shoot mostly B&W I have control over the whole process. And lastly (yes there will always be a third), I can spend some time AWAY from my computer box. shambrick007
IMHO, if there is any bottoming, it's just a temporary aberration, and prices will continue to fall. Let revisit this thread in a year.
zachariah_edwardson
If it has bottomed out, then good, Just got my feet wet and MF is a lot of fun, and now i can save up and buy some more goodies. If it has not, then I can feed my MF habit even more. If it keeps falling, I will be able to afford a really nice MF camera, though I have no issues with my Yashica mat. hass_elblad
I'm reminded of a saying; never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups. I think that neatly encapsulates the current latest digital thingymajig crowd.

david_m
How do you know its the bottom and not just a blip on the way to an even deeper bottom. Thats the more likely scenario.
mag_miksch
watching this auction site over the years you see clearly that prices go down in winter with peak the weeks before christmas and slowly go up in spring.
