Billingham Hadley for Canon 20D system?

Hello!

I am looking for shoulder bag to take the gear for short walks and city trips.

to hold: Canon 20D+17-85, 70-200f4, 10-22, 430EX, filters (incl 100x150 ND

grads), baterries, cards.

I was thinking something like Lowepro Stealth Reporter d200 would do, but I

also noticed the Billingham Hadley and it seems to take most of the above,

although it looks too slim for that.

Do you have any practical experience with this bag for similar size system? How

does it work? Did you have to use the additional clip-on pockets?

For hiking trips/long walks I use a normal backpack with gear inside in their

own individual cases. For actual walk/hicking - camera on the neck, lenses and

other stuff - on the belt.

Would appreciate your experiences with Billingham Hadley (Pro or others) with a

20d-size system.

Thanks,

Denis

I have a Hadley Pro. It is a very nice bag except that the 'quick release' leather straps tend to wear quickly: they loosen up and lose their ability to keep the flap securely closed (after going through two sets, I modified mine so they are no longer quick release--stitched them to the top flap, so as to use the belt buckle part as the release). Anyway...you could squeeze all that stuff in: the flash, filters etc. in the two roomy front pockets, then the camera body and lenses in the padded insert. You would probably have to stack at least two of the lenses (they provide a little divider for this). I gave up trying to carry around my 1N and three smallish primes in this bag because it was difficult to fit it in with a lens mounted (and impossible with the winder attached). I guess the 20D is a little smaller, but I still don't think it would be ideal. Try a Domke F6 which is a very nice small canvas shoulder bag, cheaper than the Billingham too.

Thanks, Terry!

thanks for the tip! I tried the Hadley pro in a shop and gave particular attention to the straps after your observation and I thought they will indeed loosen very quickly! So after trying the Hadley, Lowepro Offroad and Stealth Reporter d200, I got the d200. Used it for a day out today - and very happy. Fits the above gear well with some spare space (at least 2 more lenses will fit easily).

Thanks for your advice.

Denis
