Beware of Echostore.com

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Thought i'd post of my experience with this lousy company.

I bought from echostore their r1800 CIS system for a reasonable price. I didn't

bother their inks as i didn't want to chance it and got some decent stuff from

OCP in Germany through work.

It arrived in just over a week, which is ok. However when i installed the system

the cyan chip continuously came uip with errors saying it was "buggered."

I contacted them and a few days later they told me they'd send a replacement

chip. 2weeks passed so i sent an e-mail, then 2 e-mails. On my 3rd e-mail

explaining how pissed off i was they told me to wait 2 more days for it to

arrive. If it didn't they'd sort me out with another one.

2days passed and still nothing. I've tried to get hold of them but to no avail.

Bastards. Instead i have had to buy a chip from 9to6.co.uk and that arrived in

3days.

So, the point being, stay away from these guys unless you really need their ciss.

If you have had any problems with this company i'd like to hear as "echostore"

came up with nothing in the p.net search.

Cheers

Jon,

Mark has a good website you should use more often when considering to purchase through the internet.

www.resellerratings.com

I find that BH, Adorama, and Amazon are the most reliable for ordering just about anything to do with photography. I believe that they can ship to the UK, but not sure on terms and conditions.

Cheers guys

I had seen before on retouchpro.com forum (i think) that a few people had had a bad time with echostore but they were usually regarding the crapness of their inks. That's why i didn't buy them.

The ciss is, from what i can tell, identical from what is sold throughout ebay. I have no problem with it, with an exception to one of the seals on the magenta but it only leaks slightly when out of he printer. Plus i didn't want to buy inkrepublic overpriced kits (i've made that mistake 1 too many times.)

With the new chip its working fine and so far am happy with it. Just miffed by echostore's terrible customer support.
