catchlight
In a brain-dead moment, I removed my Canon-EOS mount Sigma 1.4X TC from a lens to take some closer range shots. When I eventually realized it was missing, I searched exhaustively for it--but only indoors. When I finally located the TC by accident, sitting on the deck of my kayak in the yard, three weeks had gone by, including a few typical West Coast rain storms. The front element is perfect because it was face-down with the lens cap in place, and autofocus works fine, but the rear element needs cleaning, seemingly on both sides. My question: where is the best repair facility to send it, preferably in BC, or at least Canada, to have it properly cleaned? Thanks for any suggestions. John Crowe
I would start with sigmaphoto.com which takes you to a US only site. Query them on service centres in Canada. You could also ask local retailers that sell your lens where they suggest. Some will keep their suppliers private, others don't mind giving out the info. You will probably have more luck with the smaller camera shops for info, rather than the multi store outfits. You could try asking at vistek.ca and henrys.ca both based in Toronto with stores in other centres as well. Sorry I do not have any direct suggestions. Good luck. bob_katz1
Call your local camera shop and ask them who the Canadian distributor for Sigma is this month (if there is one).

miles_feigenbaum___dallas_
I've only found warm beer in the hulls of my kayaks, consider yourself lucky.
catchlight
Miles, I needed a beer, even a warm one, when I saw that TC lying there soaking wet. Julian and others, thanks for the contact information. One of them should work out.
scott_currie1
Gentec is who covers Sigmas warranties in Canada. They are located in Markham Ontario. They are very good. I took my Sigma 70-200 f2.8 lens to be rechipped when I got my 10d and had it back in 4 days. No cost at all and they didnt even ask for a bill or proof of purchase. I had excellent service with them. http://www.gentec-intl.com/Default.asp
