scott_fleming1
In putting together a new monopod setup I took the advice of Really Right Stuff in their "Optomizing Your Monopod" article: "http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/projects/index.html I ordered the Manfroto 3232 and bolted a QR clamp to it exactly as they directed. Works great. Makes the monopod a tad heavy but not nearly so heavy as sticking a ball head on it would have. I had seen these things on B&H's website but figured for $14 they were made of some plastic dreck and not professional level equipment. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bh3.sph/FrameWork.class?FNC=ProductActivator__Aproductlist_html___5498___BO3232___REG___CatID=398___SID=F60AFB94BD0___call=specs#goto_specifications Indeed in their orignal state with a cheezy camera attachment screw they are a bit week. With the clamp bolted on top however they are great and the 5 1/2 lb rating no longer applies I feel. I'd stick ten lbs and a fairly big lense on this puppy with no fear. After all it's a monopod and you don't let go of the camera much. I wouldn't throw it over your shoulder however if I were you. Unfortunately for RRS I did not use one of their clamps as I already had one I use on my car window clamp/head that I will be swapping out for now. But as soon as I get tired of switching it back and forth I will order one of their clamps for turning me on to this very good idea. mike_martin3
Sounds like a pretty good deal. What kind of camera are you supporting with your pod?

tom_harvey2
Not to be the typo and spelling police, but what the heck is a "lense"?
geoff_mcauliffe
"Not to be the typo and spelling police, but what the heck is a "lense"?" It is a device for finding those who claim not to be the 'typo and spelling police', but really are.
