david_h._hartman
Why don't you contact Energizer and Duracell directly, you might find a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with the right specs.
scott_warn
Contact Alexander Battery in Chicago, Ill. Tell them that you need a 3 cell battery built with the Varta V280R pancake type Nicad battery cells. They will then put together a battery that will fit into the DS-1, but you also have to insert a nickel to make up for the different thickness of the cell pack. It's what I did to power up my DS-1 about 15 years ago and it's still working fine. PS; anyone remember Dell's Camera? That was who steered me to Alexander Battery and they did it Gratis over the phone. I wish they were still around, they were a great, honest, source for used equipment and the jokes they put in their advertizing were sometimes a real hoot.
