all-star sports photograph
I was privileged to be in the right spot at the right time last night to be able to capture this shot. Thought I would share it.

rayt
Don't know why the image would not inline. Width is less than 700 px, JPG compression at 8 (207K file). Oh well.

chip_degrace
great timing on the shot. is the background underexposed due to flash use, or are there simply no lights on the crowd?
all-star sports photograph
No flash. They kick all the lights off over the crowds during the Varsity games. So all you have is the lights over the court. Makes for very difficult shooting but sometimes the end result like this makes for a cool look.
paulie_smith1
Why would their turning off the crowd lights make it difficult to shoot on court? You know the lighting on court so set the exposure manually. Can't get any simpler than that.
all-star sports photograph
Hey Paulie, thanks for reminding me why I stopped coming to this site. Never said it was difficult to get the settings correct. Just said it was difficult to shoot. Just because you can get the settings right doesn't mean you are going to get the images. Low light HS Gyms and fast action sports have many challenges and settings are just a part of it. But hey thanks for taking the time to take a jab at me will I was just trying to share a cool photo.
