recently i tried to made some pics in my home studio.

my purpose was to make an halo after the object.

i have a "boewns Prolite 82" flash, (with 500w flash lamp) but i

haven't a Background light, so i made an experience and i put a 150w

usualy lamp at the Background object.

the resaults was Background light reduced completely.

what type of Background lamp i need or maybe the problem is in my

technic.

thanks in advance for any answer.

Do you have a flashmeter? It sounds like your background light is not bright enough compared to your main light (Bowens). You probably want the background to be within 1stop of your subject? If so, meter the background, then separately meter the subject with main light. You can probably achieve the effect you're seeking by reducing the main light power level.

I think there could be a language problem here, but if I understand your post correctly you are using 500 Ws flash on your subject and are using a 150W tungsten (not a flash) for your background. Is this right?
If this is what you are doing, the way to do it is to first measure your flash. Say it reads f8.
Now measure the background and see what the shutter speed needs to be at f8 - say it reads 1/15th - now set your shutter to 1/15th and your aperture to f8.
You may find that the light for the background is not bright enough and needs too long an exposure. If you are using colour you will find that the background will be very orange, this is because the colour of the light itself is not the same as the flash.
