a._valerio
I have several medium format (6x4.5) b&w negs that I want to scan, but I don't have a scanner they will fit in.

Can I mount a DSLR with a macro lens onto a copystand, and photograph the negatives (illuminating them from behind with a light box)? I have all the equipment needed.

Thank you.
patrick_mont
Give it a try. I'm not quite sure how good it will be. I would just bring them to a lab to be scanned.

john_shriver
Yes, but the results won't be as good as a film scanner.
