noelle_kreeger
I know its possible to process both black and white negative film and E-6 slide film in the Jobo autolab. I was told the different chemicals all going through same machine would throw density and contrast off if not monitored carefully. Does anyone else process both film types in the same machine? How are the results?
frank.schifano
Methinks the key here is cleanliness. I've done E-6, B&W, and C-41 using the same tanks and not had any problems. Granted this is not a Jobo machine, but the same principles apply. A thorough cleaning after each use in the best insurance against a myriad of problems. discpad
Noelle, I have a pair of ATL-3 processors running various B&W as well as C-41 & E-6; and the trick is to flush the lines as well as thoroughly wash out the bottles. Also, I keep fixer in bottle 6, either E-6 or C-41 bleach in bottle 5; and the other chemicals in bottles 1-4. To flush the lines, simply fill the bottles with hot water and set the dial to the cleaning cycle, which bypasses the temp controls.
