mikeseb
Apologies if this thread is misplaced; not really sure how best to categorize it. Has anyone had occasion to have B&H Photo repair something bought used from them? Do they do it in- house, or farm it out to the manufacturer? I bought a used Lumedyne Signature pack from them, rated 9. I've previously bought used from them with good results. This time the pack arrived DOA, in that it won't power up or discharge when set beyond the lowest power setting. I've confirmed it's not a head, cord, or battery problem. B&H offered to "try to repair" it or "exchange" it (not sure what that means since it was the only used pack in stock), but I'd rather that only Lumedyne do the work--they've repaired stuff for me before and their service is exceptional. Of course, doing that on my dime makes the economics of buying a used pack much less attractive--just as soon buy new and have a warranty. Suggestions? Maybe I should just return it, lesson learned? Thanks all.
jacob_brown
B&H does not repair camera equipment. At least it does not have a repair department. They do have a relationship with http://www.mackcam.com and they sell Mack extended warranties.
frank_kimble
Why not just ask them who will be doing the repair.
