w_t1
I was surprised to get in the mail yesterday another B&H source book, this one was about 35mm. Almost 700 pages, must have digital also I thought....but in my quick scanning the only digital I saw was a Leica digital back.... I must have spent an hour skimming the thing....the layout and information is fantastic, just like all the other B&H sourcebooks I have. I saw the thing laying on the table when I came home from work, and I knew what I would be doing after dinner, and it wasn't going to be washing dishes...Much better than downloading a gazillion pdfs off their website. I wonder if you have to spend a certain dollar amount to get these things...
mdanger
Mine arrived last week and my postal carrier was so relieved to leave it at my door. It's a great reference guide. Mary

derek_c.
Got one also (yesterday).
Can you imagine the amount of "B&H books" they send out?
Must be a mountain of it.
michael_huizenga
I'm a mailman. Yes, we had a mountain, but not everyone who receives the regular book got one.
roger krueger
I've tried to get off their mailing list, but to no avail. A couple of years ago I switched to having parcels sent to my office, so now I get not one but two copies to throw away. If you're going to kill that many trees at least give people a viable way to opt out. There are few enough things I'm interested in I'd rather have the gazillion pdfs. byronlawrence
killing tree farm trees (poor things, like tyson's chickens, they never move their entire life), mixed with a lot of recycled fiber. to make a great read. but yea maybe they do send out too many. btw i think the stuff on page 233 is pretty cool... and speaking of books, who went to the book store tonight to get harry otter the brown squirl monger :)
andrew robertson
In America, tree farms are still mostly experimental. Paper comes from all kinds of trees, even old growth.
craig_h1
I found a copy in my garbage can at work one morning.
kevin conville
I received one. To me, it's a throwback to a bygone and more ignorant era. I'd prefer they save the paper and ink and just improve their website.
rustys pics
Yup. no ignorance on the new electronic frontier.... Amazing. B&H gives out a valuable resource for free, and all people can do is bitch. If you're so offended, give yours to a college or high school with a photo program. Our students really appreciate having stuff like that for reference. kevin conville
"Yup. no ignorance on the new electronic frontier.... Amazing." Just because you didn't understand my reference shouldn't allow you to misrepresent my opinion. Nothing "amazing" about it. Producing phone book sized catalogs (with pricing) that will go out of date was common long ago and few retail companies do it for lot's of good reasons now that the internet is here. "B&H gives out a valuable resource for free, and all people can do is bitch." I didn't ask them to send it. If they sent it free by request that would make more sense. Just because someone places a higher value on conservation and things environmental doesn't mean they like to bitch. It's called standing for something. "If you're so offended, give yours to a college or high school with a photo program." That's actually a good idea. I'll drop mine at the local community college. rustys pics
Sorry I got on your case Kevin. I believe in conservation too, but going digital hardly makes me any better at protecting the environment. Silicon chip manufacture is one of the worst pollution sources known. In the end, we all pick our poison. Do give that B&H book to the community college. Since 35mm is progressing less rapidly, it will be useful for at least a few years.
