Availability and price of 120 film in Thailand?

I'll be traveling to Thailand and Cambodia soon and am trying to

figure out if I need to bring a mini-hoard of 120 slide film, or if I

will be able to purchase it there. I'll be in Bangkok, and in Siam

Riep (Angkor). If the film is available, how are the prices compared

to stateside?

A number of shops in Bangkok sell 120 film, though very few keep it refrigerated. Inquire at your hotel, or check the telephone directory (it's in english!). I am familiar with shops on Suriwong Road and Sukhomvit Road that sell fresh stock, and keep it refrigerated. Prices are generally somewhat less than the states.

AV Camera on Charoen Krung Soi 50 stocks some 120 film, but it is often limited in variety. You may want to contact them first - sometimes they can order for you. Ask them to give you a firm price as well. <avcamera@hotmail.com>

Order it up from a Thai outlet to pay Thai prices & have it DHL'd to your hotel in order for it to be there waiting upon your arrival. Ta Da! Fresh film, cheap prices, no airport worries & no extra bulk on the way over. Lots of people work this way.

Others have given some good suggestions for Bangkok. You will not find any 120

film in Siem Riep. There are a couple of mini-labs there for tourists with 35mm

print film, but that is about it. Siem Riep is actually quite a small town, and has

barely adequate infrastructure. It would not warrant an airport at all if not for the

thousands of tourists heading for Angkor Wat every day.

Any recommendations for Singapore? I'm guessing that along Orchard Rd I should find plenty of photography related stores, but are there any that especially stand out?
