Automatic sign in - Browser differences

I usually browse PN on Opera 5.0 which is considerably faster than IE 5.1.2. I never

sign out of the site so am able to enter at will without having to type an email address

and password each time. A couple of days ago I upgraded to Opera 6.0 (for Mac) and now PN

seems not to remember me and a full sign in is required - even if I change the Browser 'id'

from Opera to IE. PN continues to remember me whilst browsing in Opera 5.0...

Try using Chimera Navigator. It's fast uses panes for webpages (instead of cluttering up your desktop with numerous windows), and handles photo.net beautifully under OSX.

I believe that most good browsers allow you the option to clear all cookies when you quit. Check to see if this is set with Opera 6. It would explain why you are forced to log in again since the browser doesn't have a cookie set for photo.net.

Thanks for feedback. I'll look into downloading Chimera, in the meantime I've changed the Opera security settings to have the password request pop up only every 24 hours. I did study the cache settings, I've not checked the box that says "clear cache when quitting" (can't afford to, connection at present is just too slow.)

I see now that I had checked the Opera box "throw away new cookies on exit" - I've remedied that and think the problem might now be sorted.
