michael_kuhne
At the rate the camera model changeover now occurs, the club should prosper with new members!
miserere_mei
Interesting to see the Pentax-M 35mm f/1.4 prototype: http://www.aohc.it/lenses/3514m.jpg I could see this lens being very popular on APS-C.
miserere_mei
And we cannot forget Pentax's full-frame DSLR:

Basically an MZ-S with a 6MP 24x36mm Philips CCD. You have to wonder what would have happened to Pentax if Philips had delivered the goods. Or maybe that's not what went wrong...
shaloot
That site is great Guy, I've been wanting to find one where it shows pictures of all the cameras made, since I can remember what the heck they are with all the mz-pz-pt etc names! mountainvisions
Who know if philips really didn't meet the quality, but have there been other FF cameras with a philips sensor? how about any major DSLRS witha philips sensor!

paulstenquist
Pentax was smart enough to bail on the full-frame Philips chip before it was proven a loser. There was no other cost effective full-frame option available. There still isn't. Pentax plays in the prosumer segment. Full frame is still not a cost effective solution. But Pentax has built APS-C cameras that deliver great image quality at a reasonable price. That's what happened. And nothing went wrong.
