tom_burke3
Does anyone know if the Canon EF Extenders are available in black? I'm thinking more and more that the f2 135mm + 1.4 extender would be a really nice set to have. On my 10 it would give me 135mm and 189mm, and on my D60 it would give me 216mm (equiv) and 303mm (equiv). But it'll look awful! - black body, white extender, black lens..... kobbi
Dont look at the lens, look through it ;)

I dont think they are available black from canon, but all others
(kenko, tamron, etc) extenders are available black.

regards,
Jakob S.
www.simnet.is/jakobs
robin_sibson1
The Canon Extenders are not available in black. Only the Tripod Rings are made in each colour AFAIK. Respray? Clip-on cover? You could open up a whole new after-market here. More seriously ... I use the 135/2 + 1.4x combination on a -1v. Even at its maximum aperture of f/2.8 I have been able to obtain reasonable results (night shots of wildlife using flash). I would expect the 200/2.8 to be better, but have not tried it. From f/4 on the combination is very sharp and can be used with complete confidence. It handles comfortably but (unlike the 200/2.8) there is no provision for fitting a tripod ring. ._kaa
I recommend you paint the extender black, and then carefull draw a thin red line around it :-)
virgw_owens
Heck don't draw the live. Get your dremel and carefully carve a line around it then paint it red. You want to get it right.
PuppyDigs
Hey, I use my white Extender 1.4 with my black EF 200 2.8L USM and it looks great. Heck, even the great white L glass has black accents (focus & zoom rings). Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
