Archival MF Slide Film?

After reading so many posts regarding the wonderful archival quality

of 35mm Kodachrome - and knowing that this film hasn't been available

in MF for some time, I was wondering if a film with the archival

quality of Kodachrome exists in MF. I've shot a couple of rolls of

Ektachrome with my Yashica-Mat with great results, but I'm now

starting a family documentation project that would really benefit to

have some kind of archival color MF slide film. Any ideas? Thanks!

Kodachrome in 120 was made for awhile in the 1980's. In the early 1950's and before; it was available in 2 1/4 x3 1/4 sheets; for the Kodak Medalist 620 MF camera; with sheet film back. Kodachrome in sheet film was available in the late 1940's up to 11x14 inches. The largest one I saw was an 8x10 my neighnor shot. Kodachrome in sheet film sort of died in the mid 1950's. There was a lawsuit once; to prove the newer Ektachrome was an equalvalent replacement; I think in the mid 1950's.

E6 films have improved in their archival properties; enough, I think, that Kodachrome has less of an edge now than it once had. For one thing, E6 has a longer projection life than Kodachrome, even if only slightly. Perhaps these things have figured into Kodak's decision to do away with Kodachrome.
