radu_diaconu
Hi, I have read the specs concerning these two monitors and have heard great thingsfor both. What i'm looking to know (actually I really want the Apple)is which one isreally the best after calibration (does the Apple calibrate as well as the NEC?)and would you rather work with the standard format of the panoramic of the apple? Thank you. Radu D.

godfrey
I suspect that they would be almost indistinguishable in terms of rendering quality after calibration. I'd pick the Cinema format display as it provides more side room for palettes and tools when editing. This comes at the expense of some vertical room for portrait orientation photos, of course. That plus the fact that all the adjustments for it are incorporated nicely into the Mac OS X system software so that calibration utilities can do the whole job, hands off, once you set up the luminance, white balance and gamma you want. Tim_Lookingbill
John, This appears to be a problem caused by shipping. Have you tried to get some kind of compensation from them?
