micah_henry
Hi folks, I just picked up a neat little folder off the Bay. It has a very nice exterior but it could use some polish. The lens is a Kodak Anastigmat f/6.3 102mm set in a No. 1 Kodex shutter (speeds T, B, 25, 50, & 100). The lens will most certainly need internal cleaning, but that's something I've done before (not separating elements or anything, just removing the front group/rear group and cleaning). I will post some photos of it below. There is a curious emblem on the camera back, which I believe refers to a Swiss camera shop. This makes sense because the distance scale is marked in meters, down to "1.2 metre." Also, the ID plate riveted to the bed reads "KODAK- 620/MADE IN U.S.A. BY/ EASTMAN KODAK CO./ROCHESTER, N.Y." Inside, there is a sticker denoting a service back in 1964. A tiny white sticker is stamped, in red ink, "Aug. 7, '64" and then initialed beside the date, by hand in blue ink, is "EF." This model seems a step above the Kodak Tourists I have, in style but has a strike against it for no-flash synch provision, perhaps. But that is a minor point. I plan to clean the lens, check the bellows (look good on exterior) and put a roll through it! Any comments/anecdotes will be greatly appreciated. --Micah in NC<div></div>

glenn_thoreson
Hi, Micah ---Neat little camera. If the shutter is working somewhere in the ball park, it should take nice quality photos. The Anastigmat 6.3 is a very capable performer. Did you ever run film through your Premo?
micah_henry
Glenn, Hi! I took one photo with a Polaroid #500 holder (very hard to fit it under the Premo back) and it turned out rather well, considering. I haven't used any "real" film (negative film) in it but plan to. I loaded up some 4x5" J&C Classic Pan 200 a couple weeks ago. When I get a decent shot with the lens you sent me, I'll drop you a line (so I can send a duplicate to you). --Micah in NC
glenn_thoreson
Thanks, Micah! I bought some of that film also, and would be interested in your experience with it. I will be developing it in PMK Pyro. That's assuming I can get caught up and have time to use it before it's 20 below outside. Ah, Wyoming!
