david_gardner6
For years I was using a Spyder 2 and I always though the results were pretty pleasing to the eye as well as matching the output of my printer.
My Spyder 2 gave out, so I got a Spyder 3 as a replacement. My initial reaction was that the screen is very yellow. When I switch to uncalibrated, the result looks slightly blue and brighter, but the yellow is really throwing me off. Anyone else encounter something like this? (my printer gave out right after the Spyder, so I can't really test te ultimate result at the moment.)

newland
What kind of screen are you using, LCD, laptop, crt, I also have the spyder 3, but only had problems with my laptop, from what I've read the Spyder3Express puck is good, it's just the software
that's far too generic. If you can get your hands on basICColor Display 5,
you'll instantly see the difference and your monitor will look amazing once
calibrated (whites will be white again). You can either go legit and download
the 14-day trial from the website, or just buy it.....
tallplumphotography
I had a similar problem when I switched over to a glossy screen - something about 'wide gamut' (IIRC, might be misremembering).

If your version of the software allows it, make sure you check the 'iterative grey balance' checkbox and then recalibrate - that should solve your problem with the yellow. If you have the version of the Spyder that doesn't have that option...open a support ticket and walk through your issue with them. Perhaps they'll be able to help.
