Andy Collins
Does anyone have any experience with the alignment of the rangefinder on the Kodak Retina IIIC? If so, would you please give me some tips? Thank you.
rod_larson
You will have to remove the top cover to get at the adjustments. There is a lever that engages
the rangefinder mechanism when the camera is opened. Sometimes this lever will stick due
to dirt or dried up lubricants which could cause the rangefinder to operate incorrectly so that
would be the first thing to check.
winfried_buechsenschuetz1
There is a page covering many Retina issues:

http://retinarescue.com/kodakretinarepair.html
http://retinarescue.com/retina2arfadjust.html shows how to adjust the rangefinder on a Retina II. As far as I remember the III is pretty similar. I remember that sometimes the screws are very tight.

However, as mentioned before, in many cases it is just the coupling lever which is sticky. A drop of lighter fluid (and a tiny drop of gun oil or silicon oil) will fix this.
