Agfa film processing plus the new Velvia/Astia

Recommended Posts

I have a puzzle: do regular labs in USA have a problem processing

Agfa films (or Konika films)? I have processed some Agfa films in

Germany and the result was much, much better. For the Fuji or Kodak

mailer, what results is to be expected if I send Agfa slides to them?

I am also wondering what would be the improvements in the new

Velvia/Astia films. Astia is one of the best films I have ever used...

What can be improved for such a perfect film?

Thank you for your answer.

For Agfa, yes some. For Konica, yes most. There are many Agfa minilabs in my area, but few Konica-based labs. As you

would expect, the Agfa minilabs do well with Agfa films. Most Agfa

films also print well on Noritsu minilabs and Qualex maxilabs with

Kodak Royal or Edge paper. However Fuji SFA labs really mangle most

Agfa films, even those using Kodak paper, and Crystal Archive is not

a good match for Agfa C-41.

Astia's grain and resolution could be improved. Can't answer your

RSX/CT question, but assume the answer would be yes.
