jeffpolaski
A friend gave me her now-deceased mother's Brownie Hawkeye with the flash and five #25 flashbulbs. I loaded 120 B&W film and a great time was had by all. It seems that using that old camera tickled the fancy of folks who would balk at posing for a modern camera, and everyone hammed it up. Of course, the five flashbulbs are gone. That particular size seems to be tough to find. I do however have a bunch of AG1 bulbs that I use in my Minox B flash. AG1's are readily available from old stocks. Has anyone ever heard or seen a flash bulb adapter that would allow me to use AG1's in the #25 socket? chris_eve
Jeff, I think your easiest route would be to find a slightly later model flashgun, such as a Kodak "Supermite", which takes AG-1 bulbs by default. All the Kodak "pin & screw" flashguns are interchangeable, whether UK-made or USA, so you'll probably find one on eBay without too much trouble. john_reichenbach
Jeff, You may want to check your source for the AG-1 bulbs to see if they can supply the 25's. By the by, 25 was the Sylvania number. The GE number is 5 or sometimes you see M-5. These are readily available on ebay (of course!). I don't think the supermite would be a good fit for a Hawkeye as the reflector won't clear the top of the camera. John
jeffpolaski
Thanks for the replies. One of the reasons I want to use AG1's is that they tend to be cheaper than the larger ones. I would think that they were replacing the other bulbs in usage, and then a surplus stock of AG1's resulted from the advent of affordable electronic flash. That said, I used Google and found a source for bulbs and bulb adapters --- http://www.flashbulbs.com/flashgun.htm
