Does Rodinal still have a long shelf life after mixed?

After dilution?

Nope!

Undiluted it's pretty much a saturated solution of Potassium Sulphite + Para-aminophenol+ Potassium Hydroxide. The saturated sulphite prevents oxidation.

 

After dilution the sulphite content is insufficient to prevent oxidation.

Been a long while, vague recollection that one of the benefits of Rodinal was that you could mix it in single use quantities and keep the concentrate for a good bit?

Just used 3ml for a roll of film last week. The bottle, half full at present, was purchased in 2015. Works great ! Aloha, Bill

I think Mark was asking if the diluted developer (e.g. 1 part Rodinal concentrate with 25 parts water) can be kept for further use.

 

The amount of concentrate used limits the amount of film it'll develop. So while 7 ml of concentrate in 357 ml of water might be OK for 2 films together, or one immediately after the other. A third film a week later will almost certainly be underdeveloped, or even show no image at all.

 

Basically, Rodinal is a one-shot developer.
