adjustment layers aren't working

<p>I have ps cs4 and when I try to create an adjustment layer, I do not get the dialogue box in order to make the adjustment...curves, hue/sat, channel mixer etc...it does create a layer with that particular adjustment which shows in my layers palette but I am unable to actually make the adjustment...can anyone advise me..thanks....David</p>

<p>CS4 no longer uses dialog boxes for adjustment layers—it uses the new adjustments palette.</p>

<p>If you're using the default workspace, this is directly above the layers palette.</p>

<p>Don't feel stupid; it catches a lot of people. If you don't already know they did it, it's not particularly obvious.</p>
