ACR Preferences Disappear

<p>One one computer my preferences in Bridge (in the metadata panel in particular) go away between Bridge sessions; on another computer they stay put. How do I make them stay?</p>

Are you using Microsoft's automatic Windows update? When I had Photoshop on machine that was hooked up to a large network, the nightly automatic updates the geeks foisted upon 2,500 computers did that to me about twice a week. There was nothing I could do about it. There might be an .INI file or something you can copy and store in a safe place to restore your preferences. My prefs were (and still are) very close to the defaults, so losing them didn't bother me as much as it might others.
